My doodles are the loves of my life and I try to place my darling pups when available in the best loving responsible homes possible.
I am also the Kern County contact for doodle/ poodle mix rescue. When a doodle shows up in a shelter I am notified immediately. I begin making phone calls & emails to loving homes to get the doodle out of the shelter. If I can not find somebody to get the doodle then I will go get the doodle out of the shelter until we find a forever home. I do my absolute best to ensure that no doodle in Kern County will ever suffer the horrible fate of being put to sleep due to a lack of a loving home and family.
A little bit about where we are and how my procedures are for adopting a darling Doodle Puppy from me. :-)
I am in Bakersfield Calif. which is off the 99 freeway & I-5 about 100 miles north of Los Angeles.
When family's are far away, they will either fly here then back with pup on board with them in the passenger area or they drive and make adoption day a "mini vacation" as I prefer to not ship my sweet puppies when they are ready for adoption.
We do not breed our dogs year round, sometimes we may not have puppies for months or upto a year, it depends on our girl's cycles & our overall breeding plans.
I keep my darling pups until they are at least 2 months old before they are able to go to their new homes.
We started breeding the Labradoodles in 2003. My mother is the groomer at my Vet office & she introduced me to the labradoodle. My interest perked when the allergy friendly part was mentioned, My son & husband both have asthma. The low/non shedding was a plus but not my selling point. My mother bought Schnooker, our first labradoodle, Immediately we ALL were in love with this Benji look alike, Schnooker managed to mold into all of our hearts, it was then we decided we would start looking for top quality breeding labs & poodles. We began our search for QUALITY labrador retrievers & poodles in 2001. Our very first labradoodle litter was born to Handsome & China October 16, 2003. The puppies were amazing, none of us could believe how calm the puppies were these pups had a much longer attention span, they were capable of coming in the house & not bouncing off the walls, they LOVED the water, & they had an over whelming desire to please. Now I know what your thinking, how could we learn all of this from a litter of puppies that we only kept for 8 weeks? Simple.. each & every one of these puppies left our home with already an obsession with water, (yes even in December) all of them would "sit" on command, (try to teach a litter of 8 week old lab pups that) if we had to tell them "NO!" their feelings would be crushed, not a bit aggressive, they LOVED the cats, most pups find kitty cats as mobile dog toys. The most important thing about the litter that truly amazed me was the way they were with my kids, no jumping, no scratching, no psycho puppy antics. They just put up with what ever my kids did.
Raising doodle puppies is not our "job" we are a ":Hobby Breeder" this means we do not breed our dogs on a full time basis. We do not always have puppies available, sometimes we might have 2 litters at the same time, but this is based on our girl's cycles.
